GADAL aspires to be a leading hub for Machine Learning, Network Science, Big Data, Deep Learning, AI, and advanced analytics applied to the food and agricultural sectors. Our goal is to establish the lab as a center of innovative, data-driven research in agri-food systems—combining creative thinking with rigorous analysis—both within the Volcani Institute and in the global food and agriculture research community.
We believe that Israel should lead not only in cyber, high-tech, and defense, but also in sustainable food production and agriculture. This is why we are dedicated to advancing GADAL.
Misson
GADAL brings together academia, industry, and students to tackle real-world challenges in food and agriculture using advanced AI and data-driven methods.
We harness the strengths of Israel’s high-tech and academic ecosystems, leveraging Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Network Science & Big Data to address critical challenges in crop production, food security and sustainable farming.
We focus our research on innovative solutions that balance environmental responsibility with practical impact, delivering real benefits to Israeli and global farmers, while advancing knowledge through interconnected ideas.
We believe in creating a supporting lab environment, where my advanced students and I can learn from each other, share and test ideas while amplifying our thoughts through collective thinking and knowledge sharing.
Through GADAL-NET, our collaborative network, we engage universities, researchers, farmers, and industry partners to co-create solutions that are both scientifically innovative and practically impactful.
